Kick-Start Your Coolseat

• Your step by step guide to getting your Coolseat going

Here’s how to kick-start your new coolseat

Follow these steps to end your food waste and to grow your herbs, fruit trees, flowers or veggies - and give yourself free rich soil you can harvest from the Coolseat compost baskets that you can use on your garden beds, trees and other plants:

  1. Fill up your wicking cells. To do this use a hose or watering can in order to fill them through the water inlet above the soil. By doing this the water is where the roots need it reducing water use and watering by 80%. Surface water is wasteful and time consuming. Then check the level of the water by inserting a stick into the water inlet to make sure it is full enough in order to feed the plants. You’ll know for sure it’s full when the overflow pipe floods.

  2. Fill the garden beds with soil. Once the beds are filled with soil, plant your choice of plants in them to bring your Coolseat to life.

  3. Lastly, begin to fill your baskets with food waste. Acquire worms from other compost bins or a garden shop so that they can break down your waste.

Congratulations! On setting up your Coolseat and taking a step towards decreasing your food waste.
